6 Steps to Creating a Vision Board for Your Home or Office
If you’ve been following me for any amount of time you know that I’m a huge proponent of using vision boards to help attract the things that you want in your life. I go all around the country leading lessons on the power of vision boards and conducting vision board classes and workshops, but you don’t have to wait for me to visit your city to get your board off the ground.
You can create your own vision board in six easy steps! Here’s what you’ll need:
A poster board or cork board
A stack of magazines
A pair of scissors
Glue, tape, thumbtacks or pins
Step 1: Reserve at least an hour to yourself that you will be undisturbed.
Step 2: Close your eyes and concentrate on the life that you want. Think about what life would be like on your perfect day. When negative thoughts come up recognize them, but don’t focus on them. Pay attention to your heart’s desires.
Step 3: In a journal, notebook or diary, write out the things that you saw in your vision. This is an important step that most people who lead vision board workshops leave out. Write down what you see so that you don’t get sidetracked in step 4.
Step 4: Cut out images from your magazines that represent the thoughts in your visualization.
Step 5: Use your markers to write words, quotes and affirmations to support your vision.
Step 6: Place your vision board somewhere that you will see it frequently and be reminded of your goals and desires.
Creating a vision board is fun and easy. It can be done alone, as a couple or with a group. I’d love to conduct a vision board party for you and your friends or a strategic planning session for your team or department, but in the meantime follow these instructions to create your own vision board and look for my upcoming blog on activating your board!
